Total investment of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project officially increased to 6,810 billion VND

The Ministry of Transport has approved adjustments to the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge construction project, connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces. The total investment for the project is adjusted to VND 6,810.11 trillion, an increase of about VND 1,634.98 trillion, with the largest increase being land clearance costs.
The project’s implementation time is adjusted from 2021 to 2026 instead of 2021 to 2025 as previously planned. The investment capital source and the expected capital allocation plan are also adjusted according to the project’s progress.
The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, located nearly 4 km upstream from the existing Rach Mieu Bridge, is a 17.6 km long construction with a main bridge crossing the Tien River designed for a service life of 100 years. The project is divided into six construction bidding packages, all of which are currently under simultaneous construction.
To align with the actual implementation conditions, the My Thuan Project Management Board has proposed adjusting the project completion time to 2026.
