The Nguyen Chi Technology Trading and Service Co., Ltd. has proposed to the People’s Committee of Quang Tri province to invest in an organic agricultural farm in Gio My commune, Gio Linh district, and a high-tech organic shrimp production area in Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province. The total estimated investment for this project is 170 million Euros, with a project duration of 40 years.

The organic farm plans to cultivate crops such as soybeans, sunflowers, peanuts, sweet corn, sweet potatoes, pineapples, coconuts, and Quang Dien red rice on a 450-hectare area. The harvested produce will be processed into commercial products and feed for shrimp farming. The high-tech organic shrimp production area will include a closed chain of three production lines: shrimp feed production, high-tech circulating shrimp ponds, and a processing plant with a capacity of 2,000 tons of organic shrimp per year.

The company commits to promptly complete all procedures to start the project in March 2024 and put it into operation from September 2026 if the People’s Committee of Quang Tri province approves the investment research in November 2023.

The People’s Committee of Quang Tri province has agreed to allow the company to continue researching and completing the feasibility study report for the project. For the organic aquaculture area in Vinh Linh district, the Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Tri province, Ha Sy Dong, asked Vinh Linh district People’s Committee to review the area as proposed by the investor as this is state-leased land.
